Waitomo Information:
Waitomo Village is approx 120ft above sea level.
The climb to Kay’s Cabin is approx 1000ft.
The walk is considered medium level of difficulty and requires a reasonable level of fitness.
Some areas on the first day are of steep grades.
Each day you should allow at least 4-7 hours to complete the walk. However, time will vary for different fitness level.

The Dundle Hill Waitomo 2 Day Walk offers three
great walk sections:
The Waitomo Walkway - the first walk section, which takes you from Waitomo village to the Ruakuri Bush Reserve.
The Ruakuri Bush Walk - this is the much acclaimed second walk section,
home of the spectacular Aranui Cave and the Ruakuri
Tunnel.
The Walk to Kay's Cabin - the third walk section takes you from Ruakuri
Reserve to Kay's Cabin, a 38 bunk cabin on top of Dundle Hill,
then back along the Waitomo stream to the Reserve.
